Homemade Ginger ale turn to alcohol?
I found an online recipe for homemade ginger ale (sugar, water, yeast, flavor), and decided to make some. I have a few questions. The recipe used a 2l bottle, but i didn’t want that much so i used a .5l bottle instead, dividing all ingredients by 4. Will this have any adverse effects on the soda? also, there was a warning that there will be alcohol in the finished product. If i just left it out for like a week would i end up with some kind of carbonated alcoholic drink? Is there a high risk of other stuff being in the bottle that could make me sick (i rinsed it out with hot water before hand, but…)?

I don’t see why the same ratio would affect anything.
I don’t know exactly how long it takes to ferment into a strong alchol.
You need to make sure everything is sterile first. When hubby gets out Mr. Beer everything is soaked in mild bleach water then rinsed in the dishwasher.
