Drink Recipes Using Tequila
Q: How much is 1 part of alcohol?
A: 1/2 ounce of liquor. DO NOT MIX A DRINK WITH A RECIPE THAT CALLS FOR “ANY AMOUNT.” Use 1/2 ounce per 1 part. Ex: 3 parts pisco brandy = 1 1/2 ounces pisco brandy, and so on and so forth for the lemon, stay true to the sugar though. Always do 1/2 ounce or you’ll f*** up just like everybody else. And just remember 1 big rule: USE EXACTLY HALF SOURS (lemon, limes or sour mix) THAT YOU’RE GOING TO USE OF ALCOHOL. EX. 2 ounces Tequila, to 4 ounces of lemon or lime juice. Etc. ALWAYS HALF!!!
Excuse me if I am interrupting. 1 part alcohol is any amount mixed with an equal measure of another ingredient or liquid. 3 parts brandy to 3 ounces of water is 3 ounces of brandy and 3 ounces of water. 2 ounces of tequila to 4 ounces of juice is 2 parts tequila and 4 parts juice. Now back to your answer, of your own question, if your 1 part is 1/2 once then the other part is 1/2 once. Hope these are not the instructions from your bar manager.
