how long does coconut rum stay fresh?
I found a bottle of coconut rum that has been in our gararge opened in a cabinet for 10 years— Is it safe to use in recipes… “not drink recipes”— Baked recipes, like cakes etc??
Yes, the bottle was opened and maybe a cup used from this large bottle.. The top was on tight, but it sounds like over the years, some of the alcohol would be gone

a standard flavored rum is usually 35% alcohol, and that would be safe to cook with, or drink
some rums, like Malibu Coconut is only 21%, more of a rum-based liqueur, and i wouldn’t trust it if it was open for more than a year.
