Drink Recipes Pitchers
Can someone help me convert a recipe that makes one drink into enough for a pitcher?
This is a recipe that makes one Mai Tai. I am having a party and would like to make a pitcher of Mai Tai’s. I would like the exact measurements. Thanks.
1 1/2 ounce Bacardi light rum
3/4 ounces triple sec
3/4 ounces orgeat syrup
3 ounces orange juice
3 ounces pineapple juice
splash 151 Bacardi rum
splash dark rum
the formula is simple. you take the total fl oz of the pitcher you want to use and divide it by the total fl oz in the drink in the recipe above. you then have a ratio that you multiply all the individual ingredient amounts by and you have your quantity recipe.
so let’s say you are using a 64 oz pitcher. divide that by the total fl oz in your recipe: 9.5 fl oz.
64/9.5=6.74
6.74 is your multiplier that shows you how much to increase each ingredient to fit a 64 oz container.
so…..
1.5×6.74= 10 oz bacardi
.75×6.74= 5 oz triple sec and orgeat syrup
3×6.74=20 oz oj and pineapple juice
.25×6.74= 1.5 oz 151 rum and dark rum
