How do you make a blue-tailed fly?
I’m looking for a mixed drink/cocktail recipe called a Blue-Tailed Fly. Every drink/mixology site I go to has a recipe that involves cream or ice cream, and I know for a fact that’s not the recipe I’m familiar with. I know there’s blue curacao and possibly sweet and sour mix, but I don’t know what else is in it.
Your help is appreciated, and the first one to give me a recipe that sounds right will get the points.
I believe that someone either misstated the name of the drink or simply gave you the wrong name for this. I’ve always known a Blue Tail Fly to be made with cream of some sort. And it never has sweet n sour mix (or a similar tasting mix) in it.
It sounds like you’re referring to the Blue Lagoon (or, some people mix the name to call it a Blue Moon). The Blue Lagoon has 3 parts sweet n’ sour mix to 1/2 part Blue Curacao to 1 part blueberry vodka. You can add a spash of lemon if you want.
