How do I get my newly invented drink recognized world wide?
I believe I invented a new alcoholic beverage. I’ve checked various recipe books, searched online and asked various bartender friends if they’ve ever heard/seen/tasted and it truly appears that this drink is new. It’s very tasty and every one I’ve made for has been blown away. So what’s the next step? Is there a way to get officially recognized as a new recipe for this drink? A governing body of cocktails that I can submit to, who wil make sure the recipe is followed and it is named appropriately? Or are cocktails simply a word-of-mouth thing? Tom Collins was just lucky to get his drink out there?
Any insight? Any opinions?
You can try submitting it to an online catalogue like drinkmixer.com or something, but there isn’t a worldwide cocktail network, one reason why so many drinks have more than one name. You could bartend at a famous bar for some famous person who loves it and might write about it, that would do the trick the best, though is the most tricky approach.
