United States, "Rye Whisky" is, by law, made from a mash of Rye percent to at least 51. (The other components of the mass are usually corn and malted barley.) Is distilled to a maximum of 160 (U.S.) proof, and aged in charred oak barrels. The whiskey must be placed where drums of no more than 125 (U.S.) proof. Rye whiskey was so high for at least 2 years may also be designated as "right" as in "rye whiskey law."

U.S. distillers

Canadian Distillers
About a dozen whiskey distillers Canadian rye do today. Only a few of the production of rye whiskey with a majority of the content, the most famous of Alberta Distillers "The Premium Alberta Alberta Springs and the Wise Old Rye Whisky, distilled along the shores of Lake Ontario. Popular Brands International and Canadian Club Canadian Whisky Crown Royal.
