Cocktail Recipes Grand Marnier

How do you heat grand marnier?
OK…silly question but I see many cocktail recipes that call for warmed Grand Ma. Do you just throw a shot glass in the microwave? Pour it in a sauce pan and simmer?
I would also heat the glass, and keep the liqueur at room temperature.
You don’t particularly want to microwave it or heat it in a pan. Once the surrounding liquid gets to 174F the alcohol will evaporate. This wouldn’t be much of an issue if vaporized ethanol weren’t so flammable. Seriously, you heat this stuff up wrong and you have a pretty massive fireball on your hands. You’ve seen flareups in sauce pans from wine. Well, this stuff is three times more alcoholic — what do you think would happen?
