Best Cocktail Recipes Vodka

Alcohol best for cocktails?
Hi,
A friend is visiting and we’d like to make cocktails
We won’t have much money, but are aiming to buy at most 3 bottles, but are unsure which types of alcohol to buy to get the most value / versatility from.
We don’t like creamy / milky or really potent drinks like Advocaat / Baileys / Whiskey, so are leaning towards a Vodka, a Tequila….and something else.
We’re open to suggestions also having not made cocktails before.
Any suggestions for alcohol and brand or even EASY cocktail recipes would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
The main two that I would advise are Vodka and Rum. Your best bet would be to buy a neutral tasting vodka (Skyy works very well, especially when you leave it in the freezer for a few hours), and El Dorado work amazingly as a dark rum. If you only like white rum, Bacardi is still probably an ok choice for the price.
For the third bottle, I would go for either Gin or Tequila, depending on your preferences (Hendrick’s Gin and Olmeca Tequila are awesome choices but are both a bit pricier). Just don’t buy the cheapest thing you can find (spend an extra 2-3 dollars for a better product, your tongue and liver will thank you).
Cheers!
