Alcohol Drink Recipes By Ingredients
Taste of Bacardi 151 rum?
There is a drink recipe I want to make that calls for Bacardi 151 as an ingredient. I’m wondering if I can substitue some Austrian rum I have for the 151? The Austrian rum is called “Stroh 80″, the 80 meaning 80% alcohol, which means it is 160 proof, just slightly stronger than the 151.
The Stroh 80, by the way, doesn’t taste good straight, its very mediciney.
You can definitely do that. There’s barely any difference between the two (151 proof vs. 160 proof). Bicardi 151 is technically rum, but it mostly just tastes like burning alcohol.
